Valle.
Climate prototype for future landscapes
Installation and artistic residency at Konvent Zero
Berga, 2020
Valle is a prototype of a street space, square, or park, an installation that provides comfort through moisture collection and demonstrates the functioning of our territory via hyper-natural exaggeration. The prototype is a reproduction of a natural element in a confined, accessible space, enhancing sensations so that the public can understand and feel the territorial configuration. The excavated earth is heaped on the sides, forming cane terraces reminiscent of the terraced fields of Mediterranean valleys: the peaks with less vegetation due to exposure to sun and wind, the terraced slopes to capitalize on water, and the valley bottom where the river runs through. A micro-climate is generated via the moisture gradient, with water accumulation at the bottom of the installation thanks to the evapotranspiration of the positioned plants and the collection of water through fog catchers.
